The difference between Pet CBD and Human CBD should not be major, but it can be! It really comes down to ingredients and target audiences/consumers and marketing. At Mikko’s Choice we pride ourselves on using all human grade ingredients, which means you and your pet can both use our products–we do!
When it comes to ingredients of other brands, you should double check for ingredients other than CBD. Sometimes brands will use additional flavors or various carrier oils for the CBD in their tinctures. Not all of those will be safe for your pet. Additionally, you should check for presence of THC. High levels of THC, 2mg and above, can cause your pet to get high–we don’t want that! Any product marketing itself as hemp CBD or just CBD should be free of THC or at least have less than 0.03% THC. Target audience/consumer and marketing sort of go hand in hand. Most brands determine who they want to use their products. It can be humans, pets, specific pets or all of the above. Mikko’s Choice has a target consumer of all pets, but it just so happens humans can take the tincture as well. We did this because we want nothing but the best for our pets and that means making sure our products are human grade. They are also made in an FDA approved facility. Non-human grade products may use lesser quality ingredients and or be made in facilities that do not meet human level manufacturing requirements.
