CBD products are everywhere and it is hard to know which one to pick. For this post we want to talk specifically about CBD infused products. The image for this post is of a dog pet at Petco. It claims to be infused with CBD. Mikko’s Choice is here to tell you, this is absolute nonsense. Products like this are a money grab and they prey on undereducated and well meaning people—which makes us so mad!
A physical product, meaning one that is not ingested, that claims to be CBD infused will do absolutely nothing for your pet (or you). CBD is not an essential oil, which might have some benefits when infused into physical products. CBD needs to be ingested to have any benefit. You may see CBD infused ingestible products like drinks or food. These are also products you should stay away from. The regulations surrounding CBD are quite ambiguous, which means claims like “infused with CBD” are meaningless. There are no regulations to say what that really means—how much CBD is in the product? What is the source of the CBD–hemp seeds, hemp stocks, isolates or distillates? All of which are not great. It is also a safe bet those products are not lab tested to ensure CBD concentrations and or tested for other compounds like heavy metals, pesticides and molds which are often found in CBD products.
Mikko’s Choice is always tested for these and the results are posted here. Any reputable CBD ingestible product will perform those tests and be clear about how much CBD is present in their product. The moral of the story is: stay away from CBD infused products because they won’t do anything for you or your pet. Be sure to only get high quality and trusted ingestible products–like Mikko’s Choice!
