Over the years Mikko’s Choice became frustrated with the formulation of pet CBD products on the market and sought to offer CBD pet products that change the mold. Countless animal CBD products offer extremely low dose formulations for prices that are well over what they should be. The average customer doesn’t know that! This is why Mikko’s Choice is dedicated to consumer education. We believe a well informed consumer is a good one! We want you to feel confident in the products you buy, especially when it comes to your pet.
CBD for pets can be found pretty much anywhere these days, but there are vast differences between them—mainly when it comes to dose and quality. The average pet CBD tincture has between 250-500 milligrams (mg) in the entire bottle. That simply isn’t a lot, nor is it enough. Let’s break it down below.
If a 2 ounce bottle (60 milliliters) has 250 mg of CBD in the entire bottle, then 1 milliliter (ml) or 1 dropper will have about 4 mg of CBD in it. You can find that by dividing the mg (250) by the ml (60). 250/60=4.16. To be frank, 4 mg of CBD is basically nothing. A good starting dose is at least 15 mg of CBD. Let’s compare the 250 mg example to a bottle of Mikko’s Choice Pet CBD tincture.
A 2 ounce bottle of Mikko’s Choice has 5,000 mg of CBD in the entire bottle, then 1 milliliter (ml) or 1 dropper will have about 83 mg of CBD in it. You can find that by dividing the mg (5,000) by the ml (60). 5,000/60=83.3. That number is much higher than a recommended starting dose, which is nice because it leaves you with options. You can give a quarter of a dropper (.25 ml) which is about 20 mg of CBD to start. This allows you to give less oil, but more CBD. If you were to use a 250 mg bottle you would need to give at least 4 entire droppers of it to reach 20 mg.
The Mikko’s Choice formulation allows you to give less oil with more CBD. This quite literally gives you more bang for your buck! You can adjust the dose low or high. Need to give 40+ mg? No problem, that is just a single dropper! If we continue with the same 250 mg example, 40 mg would be 8 droppers compared to just half a dropper of Mikko’s Choice.
Now let’s compare the cost. A 250 mg bottle can cost anywhere from $25-50. Let’s use a product that costs $35. To find price per mg you divide the cost of the product by the total mg. For our example: $35/250=$0.14 cents per mg. A bottle of Mikko’s Choice is $150 and has 5,000 mg. $150/5,000=$0.03 per mg. Remember $5 of our cost is donated to animal rescues as well! Per this example, you can see that you would be paying less for more milligrams of CBD when you compare price per mg. Again, this gives you more bang for your buck! Lets also remember how many more droppers you’ll need to give of a lower mg product compared to Mikko’s Choice pet CBD. Again–you’re getting more doses with Mikko’s Choice at a better cost.
